Halloween craft

Today was raining all day, and it was just not a nice day to go out! So we decided to stay at home. We played with cars, with molly, went to buy groceries for tomorrow, and then came home. David has been so exited about halloween so I decided to do something with him.

I wanted to make something that could be used as a halloween decoration. I was going to make some silhouettes of a pumpkin, a ghost, and bats to glue in the windows in the living room, but then he wouldnt have been able to help me. So I remembered I had some transparent paper that we used when we were at school to show something on the overhead projector. I dont think anyone uses that anymore! Do you remember when we used to use the over head projector and had to print the powerpoint slides to show them in class, it was such a long time ago!

Ok, so going back to the project this is what you need:

+ Orange tissue paper

+Scissors

+Glue

+Water

+1 paint brush

+Transparent paper

+Black marker

Its very simple, you cut in little squares the tissue paper. What I did is I cut the paper in stripes so David could cut the squares. It was very easy for him to do it.
Then on the transparent paper a drew a circle, the shape of the pumpkin and let him fill the rest with glue. Oh and before I mixed the glue with a little bit of water. Then glue the squares.
We waited for it to dry and then I drew the face of the pumpkin and there you go! You have a pumpkin and a decoration for your windows!

Finished my project!

I think this is the first time I actually finish a project. Usually I will start and never finish, but today I did!!! Yay for me! And it turned out great! See it for yourself. If you want to do it too here is the link where I made the labels. Usually I would have designed the labels myself, but since I wanted to finish today I used these that where easy to print.

Free pantry Labels  (click on the link)

Maybe this week I will design some and upload them on this page so you can use them too if you want a different design or color.

Organizing!

So today I didn't go to work. It was nice to just stay, edit some photos and then have time to organize the kitchen. It was a mess, well it is still a mess but less than before. I started by cleaning and taking things out that had gone bad from the food storage. Then I organized all the food. Here is the before and after. I still need to make tags to put on all the boxes so everyone can know what goes where and it can stay organized for a long time.

I will post the tags tomorrow when I finish.

Here is the before

And here is the after.

Past

Oh how much I miss Hawaii. Yesterday I was remembering the time when I took these pictures. It was an amazing morning. I remember waking up really early to take the bus to go to Kahana Bay. I got there early, the ancient canoe was there already. Later people started coming and getting ready to welcome the sailors from their trip. When they got off the canoe the singing and dancing started. What a wonderful culture hawaii has. I am so thankful for the wonderful things I was able to experience. Now hopefully in the future I might go to another country and learn from other cultures. For now maybe I need to learn from my own and enjoy being in my country, which I do. :D

He lives

On my way to conference this morning, we listened to the hym, I know that my redeemer lives. What a great hym.

" I know that my redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives.

He lives, he lives who once was dead.
He lives my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love.
He lives to pleas for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed.
He lives to bless in time of need.

He lives to grant me rich supply.
He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint.
He lives to hear my souls complaint.
He lives to silent all my fears.
He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my trouble heart.
He lives all blessings to impart.

He lives, my kind, wise heavenly Friend.
He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives and while he lives I'll sing.
He lives, my Prophet, Priest and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath.
He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare.
He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives all glory to his name.
He lives, my Savior still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
I know that my Redeemer lives!
He lives all glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
I know that my Redeemer lives!

After listening to these wonderful words it made me feel the love our Father in Heaven has for us. General conference shows us how much he loves us, that he never forgets us and how much he wants to guide us.

I know He lives and he talks to us through the prophet, the apostles and through all our leaders. I am so grateful for all the wonderfull messages they shared with us on Saturday and Sunday. It has been a very uplifting weekend.

Now I need to study them and turn to actions everything they said. It won't be easy, and some things might be harder to do than the others, but I have faith that he will help me, he will walk by my side at all times. We are never alone. The only thing we have to do is be obedient and pray whenever our strength is failing.

I believe that he will never ask of us more than we can carry. The trials we have in this life is for our on good. Like president Monson said, "the stronger the winds the tougher the tree" I think it was something like that. Sorry if is not correct, but you know what I mean. Our Heavenly Father knows our potential and know what we can become. The trials we have will help shape who we will become.

We have all the tools and help to overcome these trials and become a better person.

I am so happy and grateful for the restored gospel.

So now let's study those talks!
